The Holidays are (almost) Here!!!

Hey everyone!!

The holidays are almost here! Isn’t it exciting? I’m sure you all have many things planned for this great (but very hot) time πŸ™‚

Here is what has been happening over on Fraser Island:

A few nights ago we were lucky to see a spectacular Fraser Island Lightning Show Β from our front veranda! Not only was there lightning, but just before the lightning, the sky had this beautiful luminescent quality. Vanilla was a bit scared by the storm (she normally is) but I got her calmed down πŸ™‚ Here are some pictures and a video of the lightning.

I have a question for you all : What is the connection between these two photos? (Hint: The photo on the right is smoke……………….)

We have also been seeing many animals around recently, including grasshoppers (yes, the kind that destroy the pumpkins you are trying to grow), goannas, dingoes, snakes, bees and many more.

Here are my plans for the holidays:

My Nonna and Poppy are coming to Hervey Bay to be with us for a week soon butwe will spend Christmas on K’gari. Then, my cousins are coming to Hervey Bay and afterwards, we will be going to Lake Conjola with them. I can’t wait!! If that’s not already going to be fantastic, Iluka and I are also spending a week in Tamworth at the Country Music Festival with Nonna and Poppy and Nan!! Its going to be awesome!! I will post about it all for you πŸ™‚

And of course, I will spend lots of time with my much loved hobbyhorses Starlight, Belle and Vanilla, especially competing in the school holiday program πŸ™‚

What are you going to do in the holidays? Post your answer in the comment box πŸ™‚

I hope you have an awesome holiday!!

P.S. Answer to question: The lightning hit a tree down at Jabiru Swamp on the southern end of the island and started a wildfire. It will probably continue to burn for like a month, but the rangers are making sure they confine it so it won’t spread.

  1. Well HorsecrazyKai, it certainly sounds like you have lots planned for your school holiday. You will need a holiday to get over the holidays.

I love the pictures and there is nothing like a lightning storm over the ocean.

Looking forward to to catch up with you in Lake Conjola.

    Love Oma
