A Walk to Kirrar Sandblow

Hello Everyone,

Last weekend my family and I went for a walk to Kirrar Sandblow (and then had a stop over a Eli Creek).

Today I will take you on the Kirrar Sandblow walk (and a dip in Eli Creek of course!).

Lets begin:

The funny tree on the start of the walk.

Dienella berrys, edible but (from my opinion) not as good as midgem berrys.

Dianella berrys, edible but (from my opinion) not as good as midgim berries.

The 'bush' canopy.

Here comes the sandblow!

Here we are, on the moon -looking sandblow (ectcept the moon doesn't have any vegetation).

Now we will walk back to the beach, get in the car and drive to Eli Creek.

Here we are at Eli Creek – usually a very busy place but today its just us 🙂

  1. Hi Kai, wow! I didn’t know dianella fruit was edible and I’ve so many of those where I used to work. I assumed they were poisonous because of their vibrant colour. And how lucky to have Eli Creek all to yourselves. I’ve been there twice and each time there was a huge crowd waiting to float down the creek. You are having an amazing time. Thankyou so much for sharing your walk experience.

    • Yes dianella berries are edible but like I said midgim berries are much better 🙂
Eli Creek was busy when we went but not when I took you 🙂

  2. Wow! You guys are so lucky to have Eli Creek all to yourselves, I’ve only ever seen lots and lots of people there and swam with one eel.
I love your story Kailani and the photos. Can’t wait to come and visit you and Iluka, mum and dad and for you to show me some of your favourite places:)
